Chowan Hospital

Chowan Hospital’s modern facility provides services and programs to 110,000 people in 7 counties. The partnership with Vidant/University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina gives our patient access to state-of-the-art services provided by East Carolina University, a top-notch academic medical center. Chowan Hospital has 111 beds and 55 practicing doctors.

Chowan Arts Council

Located at the base of Broad Street near the waterfront, the Chowan Arts Council Gallery and Gallery Shop feature local artists of all mediums. Exhibits are rotated frequently, and residents are treated to a delightful variety of programs.

Shopping

Galleries, gift shops, book stores, and boutiques line Edenton’s Broad Street. A number of other interesting retail outlets are located in close proximity to the main retail district.

Two shopping centers on the downtown’s outer edges host a variety of stores, including our two main grocers.
